LG has refreshed its touchscreen lineup in the country with the launch of two mid-range phones — Cookie Fresh GS290 and Cookie Plus GS500v.

Sporting a sleek look, LG GS290 features a 3-inch LCD touchscreen display with 240×400 pixel resolution. The phone has a 2 megapixel camera and a built-in Oxford dictionary. GS290 has a 28MB of internal memory that can be expanded upto 16GB.

LG’s Viewty phones are known for their camera centric features and above average picture quality. However, LG doesn’t seem to have added any new models to its Viewty line-up for quite some time now making the entire range somewhat obsolete. This, especially when most other manufacturers have graduated to 8 and 12 megapixel camera phones. Most Viewty branded phones are 5 megapixel devices as you might be aware.

It is in this scenario that LG has announced its latest Viewty handset, the Viewty Snap GM360. This phone is (obviously) camera centric and features what LG calls an Optic-all Zoom. Now, while that does sound like a device with optical zoom capabilities (which would have been great!) this seems to be more of an enhanced digital zoom in which there isn’t as much loss in image quality as compared to normal digital zoom found on even the best camera phones out there.
