Purple Nokia E72 to become available soon

The Nokia E72 is currently the must-have Nokia Eseries business phone, but so far, it’s been limited to only three rather plain and overused colors (except for the last one): black, gray and topaz brown. However, it looks like things are about to change very soon, and those who would like to express themselves through the color of their handsets will be able to appreciate an upcoming update.

The team from NokiaLB have uncovered what appears to be a new Nokia E72 with a new color casing: purple. It looks to be exactly the same as earlier Nokia E72s, and only differ in its outer appearance. It looks girly, and I know I wouldn’t want to be caught dead holding it, but I’m sure some of the ladies out there would love to have their hands on it.

Nokia 2720 fold delivers top design for 55 Euros

Just as the trickle-down effect of innovative mobile technology is flowing into mid-range and entry level handsets, today’s unveiling of the new Nokia 2720 fold, which will launch in the third quarter of 2009 for around 55 Euros, highlights how top-class design can be tailored for emerging markets at a price that makes style available to all.

Bearing a striking resemblance to the sleek mid-range Nokia 6600 fold, the new Nokia 2720 fold shares a similar mirrored shell body with hidden external display. Flip it open and inside it’s just as smart – scroll down the page and click through our photo gallery of the 2720 fold to see it in detail.

Active content removed Building on the design, Nokia continues its approach to tailoring handsets to emerging markets and remote rural communities (see one of our recent favourites, the 1202), as the new 2720 fold is bringing the easiest email solution to communities via Ovi Mail. Sat on Series 40, the 2720 fold is designed so folks can begin emailing after a simple three-step process – it’s a fully guided and automated set-up too, meaning Ovi Mail handles all the tricky stuff for you (watch the video, above right).

Active content removed In selected territories will come primed with Nokia Life Tools (watch the Life Tools video, right). Battery life remains an important factor for devices such as the 2720 fold – which will be used in environments where recharging can involve having to take the device to a local town to access a power supply – with up to 18 days of standby time and around 5 hours for talk. Other features include an FM radio with the ability to record radio, MP3 ringtones, MMS and Bluetooth.

The Nokia 2720 fold is slated to go on sale in the third quarter of 2009 for around 55 Euros before taxes and subsidies.

What do you think of the 2720 fold? Get involved and leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
